Jazz and AbCellera sign deal for T-cell engagers in solid tumours

Jazz Pharmaceuticals and AbCellera have signed an agreement for research, development, and commercialization of T-cell-engaging multispecific antibodies (TCEs) to treat gastrointestinal cancers and other solid tumours. Jazz Pharmaceuticals receives exclusive worldwide rights to develop and commercialize antibodies from this collaboration. AbCellera will conduct discovery and early-stage research on two initial programmes with the option to start a third programme within 12 months. The agreement includes upfront payments of $56 million to AbCellera for the first two programmes, with an additional $28 million if a third programme begins. Jazz Pharmaceuticals can receive up to $792 million per programme in option fees and milestone payments. AbCellera's platform integrates discovery with clinical manufacturing and includes panels of CD3-binding antibodies and high-throughput functional assays.
