Stellate Ganglion Stimulation for Restless Leg Syndrome in Hemodialysis Patients

This clinical study investigated stellate ganglion stimulation in patients undergoing hemodialysis who suffer from restless legs syndrome. The main goal was to investigate the efficacy of this method in alleviating the symptoms of this uncomfortable condition. Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, known as TENS, was used as a therapeutic intervention in the study. For an objective comparison of the effects, a sham, so-called dummy stimulation was also used in a portion of patients. Cairo University was the sponsor and main guarantor of this research project. According to official records, this clinical study is currently already completely finished.
