The study examined the effects of combined strength and endurance training on serum levels of myostatin and hormone-sensitive lipase in overweight and obese men. Participants had a BMI greater than 25 (overweight) or greater than 30 (obese). The study included two exercise groups: upper body training and lower body training with combined strength and endurance exercises. Myostatin is a protein that regulates muscle growth, while hormone-sensitive lipase is an enzyme important for fat metabolism. The research aimed to understand how physical activity affects these biological markers in individuals with overweight and obesity. The study was sponsored by Arya Habibi and has been completed.
