Regular inspections of natural bathing areas were conducted at the beginning of the week with water samples collected at monitored locations. With the arrival of summer weather and high temperatures, increased interest in bathing in natural waters is expected. Hygiene authorities recorded the first cases of deteriorated water quality at the beginning of the bathing season. In Vysočina, a bathing ban was declared at Kachlička pond due to massive cyanobacteria occurrence, which poses a risk of acute health damage. Increased cyanobacteria presence was also recorded at Domanínský pond, where bathing is not recommended especially for sensitive population groups. In the Moravian-Silesian region, the presence of cercariae, which cause cercarial dermatitis, was confirmed in the Brušperk water reservoir. Water quality can change significantly in a short time depending on meteorological conditions.
