MinderCare is a study evaluating a digitally enabled care model for people living with dementia at home. The study includes 100 people with confirmed or suspected dementia who will use the Minder remote monitoring system for at least 12 months. Low-cost sensors collect information about behaviour, environment, and physiological parameters from the home. Machine-learning algorithms have been developed to create digital biomarkers for infections, sleep, night-time behaviour, and daily activities. The study will assess the feasibility, acceptability, and sustainability of the service. The primary outcome will be Days Alive and Out of Hospital over 12 months, with secondary outcomes including hospitalisations, costs, institutionalisation, and mortality. The study has received ethical approval and will disseminate findings to patients, healthcare professionals, and policymakers.
