Call for data on: Pest occurrence points of Xylella fastidiosa and its subsp. multiplex, fastidiosa and pauca for climate suitability analysis

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has issued a call for data. This call is related to updating the scientific opinion on the risks posed by the bacterium Xylella fastidiosa to plant health in the EU. The previous opinion was published on May 15, 2019. EFSA needs new data to model the climate suitability of this bacterium and its subspecies pauca, fastidiosa, and multiplex. For this purpose, it is reviewing scientific literature and collecting information on pest occurrence points. They are looking for occurrence points with geospatial coordinates where X. fastidiosa was detected in the natural habitat of plants. The aim is to better understand where the bacterium can spread depending on the climate. The deadline for data submission is June 26, 2026.
