Genprex’s Reqorsa combo secures Canadian patent for lung cancer

Genprex has received patent approval from the Canadian Intellectual Property Office for the use of its Reqorsa gene therapy in combination with PD-1 or PD-L1 antibodies to treat small and non-small cell lung cancers. This patent expands intellectual property protection already established in China, Europe, Japan, Russia, and the US. The company is currently conducting the Acclaim-3 Phase I/II clinical trial evaluating the combination of Reqorsa with Genentech's Tecentriq drug. The first phase demonstrated that Reqorsa is generally well tolerated. The second phase plans to enroll approximately 50 patients with extensive-stage small cell lung cancer. The trial has received fast track and orphan drug designations from the US Food and Drug Administration.
