A Prospective , Split-mouth, Clinical Study of Orthodontic Titanium Miniscrews With Machined and Acid-etched Surfaces.

The study compared orthodontic titanium miniscrews with two different surface types - machined and acid-etched surfaces. It was a prospective clinical study using a split-mouth design, meaning both variants were tested in the same patients. The study focused on treating misaligned teeth and crowding conditions. Miniscrews are used as orthodontic devices for tooth fixation and movement. The research was funded by Foundation University Islamabad. The study was successfully completed with the aim of determining which type of miniscrew surface is clinically more effective.
