Boehringer and Combotope partner for cancer antibodies

Boehringer Ingelheim has signed a research collaboration agreement with Combotope Therapeutics to develop antibody therapies targeting cancer. The partnership combines Combotope's SMART-Phage platform with Boehringer Ingelheim's research and development capabilities, focusing on multiple oncology targets. Combotope specializes in recognizing cancer-specific glycan and protein targets that conventional antibody approaches cannot selectively address. Combotope will develop antibodies and provide characterization data, while Boehringer Ingelheim will be responsible for further research, development, manufacturing and commercialization. Combotope is eligible for an upfront payment, additional research funding and milestone payments, as well as royalties on net sales. Boehringer Ingelheim will hold worldwide development and commercialization rights to therapies resulting from the collaboration.
