The Faculty Hospital in Ostrava has implemented artificial intelligence into its security system consisting of hundreds of cameras. The system can detect patient falls, identify suspicious visitor behavior, detect loud sounds such as screams or gunfire, and find missing persons using facial recognition. Cameras with artificial intelligence also alert to abandoned objects, detect weapons, and track people moving to multiple locations in a short time. The hospital employs its own security staff instead of external agencies and plans to expand security with drones and personal employee cameras. Hospital management emphasizes that it is better to have multiple false alarms than one tragic oversight.
