Acutelines: a Dutch emergency department-based data-biobank for multimodal, longitudinal acute care research

Acutelines is a continuously operating data-biobank infrastructure located in the emergency department of the University Medical Center Groningen in the Netherlands. It collects comprehensive patient data including demographics, vital signs, laboratory results, diagnoses, treatments, biosignals, patient-reported outcomes, and biological samples. Data are linked to in-hospital outcomes and post-discharge mortality. The presented dataset comprises 29,314 emergency department visits from 18,850 adult patients. Clinical variables are available for nearly all visits, with additional data, questionnaires, and biological samples collected in predefined subgroups. The infrastructure continuously expands and provides a foundation for development, validation, and benchmarking of clinical decision support tools and biomarkers in acute medicine.
