The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (MPSV) opposed the planned relaxation of assisted reproduction rules and submitted a 15-page comment to the amendment of the law on specific health services. MPSV demands that assisted reproduction be allowed only for married couples and refuses to enable this service for women without a partner. The ministry also calls for a complete ban on financial compensation for gamete donation and exclusion of socially disadvantaged persons from egg donation. MPSV argues that single-parent households are more threatened by poverty and that a child should be a gift, not an object of legal claim. The ministry also points out the problem of donor anonymity in the era of widespread genetic testing and insufficient regulation of the child's right to know their origin. It proposes a ban on freezing eggs for reasons other than health and demands that recipients of social benefits cannot be donors.
