The Military Police proposed to prosecute Zdeněk Brabec, a former deputy director of the Central Military Hospital (ÚVN) in Prague, for three criminal offenses. Brabec allegedly submitted a forged lustration certificate in 2014 to obtain the position of deputy director with a higher rank and salary. Before 1989, Brabec was a member of the State Security and served for two years in the internal intelligence department, which meant he could not obtain a clean lustration certificate. He held the deputy director position for ten years from 2015 until November 2025, when he was dismissed due to the altered lustration certificate. The Military Police charged him in March with forgery of a public document, fraud, and attempted fraud. According to information, he caused damage exceeding one million crowns to the hospital. Brabec denied all charges and considers the case to be fabricated.
