The study investigated the effectiveness of fan-assisted local cooling in reducing pain during peripheral intravenous catheter insertion in adult patients. It was a randomized crossover trial comparing fan-assisted cooling with standard alcohol skin preparation. Procedural pain during intravenous cannulation is a common problem in clinical practice. The research was conducted at Antalya Health Sciences University. The study aimed to find simple and accessible methods to alleviate pain during this routine medical procedure. The crossover design allowed comparison of both methods in the same participants.
