The Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic and the State Institute for Drug Control are intensively negotiating with manufacturers and European partners regarding the delivery of thousands of additional tamoxifen packages, which are expected to be imported into the Czech Republic within days. Simultaneously, a special treatment program has been prepared as an extraordinary solution to overcome the current shortage. This program will enable pharmacies to efficiently divide imported tamoxifen packages into individual doses according to patients' actual needs. The aim is to ensure that the medication reaches the largest possible number of patients and to prevent waste due to the size of original packages. Original blisters will remain intact, and the pharmacy will only assemble new individual packaging. The procedure also maintains all requirements for treatment safety and quality and ensures coverage by public health insurance. The Ministry of Health and SÚKL will continue negotiations to fully stabilize tamoxifen availability in the Czech Republic as soon as possible.
