The study examined differences in sternal dimensions between men and women using computed tomography. The research included 250 adults aged 20 to 80 years (155 males and 95 females) from Western Uttar Pradesh, India. Males had significantly larger sternal measurements across all parameters: manubrium width (57.3 mm versus 49.9 mm), manubrium length (45.3 mm versus 40.4 mm), sternal body length (90.2 mm versus 75.7 mm), and sternal area (5258.3 mm² versus 3880.5 mm²). Females had a higher sternal index (53.8 versus 50.8). The results demonstrate marked sexual dimorphism in sternal dimensions, which could be useful for forensic identification. These reference values provide a basis for population-specific forensic models.
