This study focused on comparing two approaches to treating chronic pain. One of these was self-directed cognitive behavioral therapy for chronic pain (CBT-CP). This self-directed therapy included asynchronous, audio-recorded personalized feedback. The second approach was usual clinical care. The main objective of the research was to determine if self-directed CBT-CP is more effective in reducing pain compared to usual clinical care.
