The study analyzed 50 positive urine cultures from a tertiary care hospital in India between July and December 2025. Gram-negative bacteria accounted for 80 percent of isolates, with Escherichia coli being the most common (46 percent), followed by Klebsiella pneumoniae (24 percent). All tested bacterial isolates demonstrated multidrug resistance. Escherichia coli showed 100 percent resistance to ampicillin and ceftriaxone, with only fosfomycin and colistin being effective. Klebsiella pneumoniae was resistant to ceftriaxone and piperacillin-tazobactam, with colistin being the only consistently effective drug. All tested Enterobacteriaceae isolates demonstrated 100 percent positivity for extended-spectrum beta-lactamases and 85 percent positivity for carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae. The study provides the first institutional antibiogram to guide empirical treatment at the hospital.
