The article discusses the importance of sleep regularity for health. A study of 72,269 adults from UK Biobank without previous cardiovascular events found that people with the most irregular sleep patterns had a 26 percent higher risk of heart attack, stroke, heart failure, or cardiovascular death. Maintaining the recommended sleep duration did not reduce the risk, suggesting that regular sleep and wake times are important. The article also presents the EROS RWE analysis examining early intervention in COPD. Administration of a fixed triple combination of budesonide/glycopyrronium/formoterol fumarate within 30 days after exacerbation was associated with a 24 percent reduction in annual exacerbation rates and a 34 percent reduction compared to very delayed treatment.
