This retrospective study compared the efficacy and safety of adjuvant almonertinib and icotinib in 80 patients with resected stage II-IIIA EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer. After a median follow-up of 40 months, almonertinib demonstrated significantly better disease-free survival with median not reached compared to 29 months for icotinib. The 24-month disease-free survival rates were 85.1% for almonertinib and 61.2% for icotinib. Recurrence occurred in 17.5% of almonertinib patients and 45% of icotinib patients. Almonertinib also showed superior overall survival and a more favorable safety profile with fewer severe adverse events (7.5% versus 25.6%). No adverse events led to death in either group.
