Efficacy of Intra-Articular Hyaluronic Acid Combination Injections for Temporomandibular Joint Internal Derangement: A Clinical and MRI Based Randomized Trial

This text describes a completed randomized clinical trial focused on temporomandibular joint (TMJ) internal derangement. The primary objective was to evaluate the efficacy of intra-articular injections containing a combination of hyaluronic acid. These injections were administered directly into the temporomandibular joint, which connects the jaw to the skull. The study was designed as a randomized trial, meaning participants were randomly assigned to groups, and included both clinical assessments and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The research aimed to determine how well these injections work for addressing jaw joint issues. The entire project was sponsored by Mansoura University and has already been completed.
