The study analyzed 5,851 clinical trials focused on hypertension registered on ClinicalTrials.gov to assess how completely and promptly results are reported. Of 5,396 trials required to report results, only 9.1% reported timely (within 365 days of primary completion) and 28.8% reported at any time. Trials with confirmed reporting obligation achieved 36.9% timely reporting, while other trials only 6.3%. The presence of a United States site was most strongly associated with timely results reporting. Among unreported trials, 7.8% had sponsor-tagged publications and 36.4% under a broader definition. The research demonstrates that timely reporting of hypertension trial results remains uncommon and is most strongly associated with observable reporting obligations.
