The state covers health insurance for university students until they complete their studies, but no later than age 26. Studies are considered completed on the day the student passes the state final exam, with the law making no distinction between regular and supplementary exam dates. A student therefore remains a dependent child covered by state insurance until the date of the supplementary exam if it is held later. Schools are obligated to report changes related to studies to the central register of insured persons. After successfully completing their studies, students must inform their health insurance company who will be their new insurance payer. Changes can be reported through the Moje VZP application, email, data mailbox, postal mail, or in person at an insurance office.
