The study compared the effectiveness of human cellular umbilical tissue allograft (STRAVIX) with acellular matrix products in treating diabetic lower extremity ulcers. The analysis included 2,626 patients treated with STRAVIX and 10,002 patients treated with acellular products. Patients treated with STRAVIX had significantly lower incidence of infection, wound dehiscence, minor and major amputations. The number of follow-up visits was 17-23% lower, debridement-related visits were 19-23% lower, and hospital readmission rates were 22-25% lower in the STRAVIX group. Hospital stay length was 3% shorter and treatment costs were 20-25% lower in STRAVIX-treated patients. The results demonstrate improved clinical outcomes when using STRAVIX combined with standard surgical care.
