The Prague Central Military Hospital (ÚVN) has adopted new internal regulations to protect patients' health data. The change responds to a decision by the Office for Personal Data Protection from May of this year, which identified deficiencies in the hospital. The complaint was filed by former President Miloš Zeman in April 2023, who objected to how his sensitive health data from October 2021 was handled. The hospital had issued two documents about his health status and sent them to the presidential office and the Senate chairman. The Office dismissed Zeman's complaint because the hospital had destroyed all related documents. However, the hospital was required to implement measures including a special protection regime for personal data in exceptionally sensitive cases related to the exercise of constitutional functions.
