The study investigated ciliary body inner diameter (CBID) in 107 myopic eyes of 58 Chinese adults using ArcScan Insight 100 ultrasound biomicroscopy. The mean CBID was 10.80 ± 0.48 mm (range 9.76 to 11.97 mm). Analysis revealed that wider CBID was associated with younger age, lower crystalline lens rise, wider sulcus-to-sulcus (STS) diameter, and smaller STS lens rise. STS was the dominant factor explaining 59.5% of CBID variability. The Reinstein formula, which incorporates CBID, recommended different Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) sizes compared to the traditional white-to-white method in 49% of cases. The findings suggest that incorporating CBID can alter preoperative ICL size recommendations.
