The study examined the effects of early mobilization in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). A meta-analysis included 7 randomized controlled trials (4 English and 3 Chinese articles). Results showed that early mobilization compared to conventional treatment significantly reduced the incidence of ICU-acquired weakness and delirium, shortened the duration of mechanical ventilation, length of ICU stay, and total hospital stay. It also improved functional independence in patients and decreased the incidence of complications. All observed effects were statistically significant. The authors concluded that early mobilization provides significant clinical benefits and recommend its clinical implementation, although further studies are needed to verify long-term effects.
