VZP chce dostat nové technologie k pacientům rychleji. Připravila si na to stovky milionů korun

The General Health Insurance Company (VZP) is launching a managed innovation entry program to accelerate and make more predictable the introduction of new technologies, artificial intelligence, and telemedicine into healthcare. The program will allow for temporary reimbursement and practical testing of technologies, with proposals open to manufacturers, research centers, universities, and start-ups. It will feature two calls: one ongoing for projects with significant impact, and another thematically divided into diagnostic areas. The first thematic call in October will focus on oncology, followed by type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular, and neurodegenerative diseases. VZP has launched an Innovation Portal for this project, where applicants can find methodology; the approval process should not take longer than 4 months. Upon successful approval, an innovation can be tested for six months to two years, with its benefits thoroughly evaluated by experts. VZP has allocated a budget for this project, anticipating expenditures of up to 300 million Czech crowns for 2027. The goal is to ensure that innovative procedures reach patients faster and with scientific justification, without unnecessary delays.
