Conduction System Pacing to Prevent Pacing-Induced Cardiomyopathy

The study examined conduction system pacing as a method to prevent cardiomyopathy induced by artificial cardiac pacing. This approach was compared with the standard method of right ventricular apical pacing. The study focused on patients with conduction disturbances between the atria and ventricles. Conduction system pacing represents a newer technique that could reduce the risk of heart function deterioration from long-term pacing. The research was conducted at Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital and was successfully completed. This study contributes to better understanding how to minimize adverse effects of long-term artificial cardiac pacing.
