Topical Melatonin for Immediate Implants in Chronically Infected Extraction Sockets

This study investigated the use of topical melatonin in relation to immediate dental implants. Its aim was to explore its effect in cases of chronically infected extraction sockets. Conditions examined included chronic apical periodontitis, dental implantation, and infected extraction sockets. Interventions involved the administration of topical melatonin and a comparative control group. The study was sponsored by Mansoura University. The project has been successfully completed, indicating that the research in this area has concluded.
