Diabetic macular edema (DME) is an eye disease requiring integration of ophthalmologic and systemic data. The study created a dashboard prototype using a user-centered approach and SMART-on-FHIR technology, which enables interoperability across different healthcare systems. The prototype integrates ophthalmologic imaging findings and systemic risk factors including long-term glycemic markers, inflammatory markers, and blood pressure in a unified interface. The system is built on standardized FHIR resources and SMART-on-FHIR authorization, enabling secure data access. The results demonstrate how user-centered interfaces and standardized interoperability can support clinical decision-making in routine care. Such interoperable infrastructure is a key prerequisite for future clinical decision support systems.
