A study published in the journal Nature Medicine on September 22, 2026, presents a new method for esophageal cancer screening. This approach was evaluated as part of a large-scale scientific study. The newly developed diagnostic tool is named Esophageal AI-Guided malignant Lesion Evaluation. The technology utilizes artificial intelligence to enhance the detection of malignant esophageal conditions. The entire examination is conducted using noncontrast computed tomography scans without the need for contrast agents. This new system achieved high sensitivity in detecting cancerous lesions.
