Management of Hypokalemia in Intensive Care Patients

The study addresses the management of hypokalemia, a condition characterized by low potassium levels in the blood, in patients hospitalized in intensive care units (ICU). Hypokalemia is a common finding in critically ill patients and can lead to serious complications including cardiac arrhythmias. The research focused on implementing a specific algorithm for hypokalemia treatment with the aim of improving clinical outcomes. The study was conducted at Anadolu University and aimed to optimize procedures for treating this electrolyte disturbance. Proper management of potassium levels is critical for preventing complications and improving the prognosis of ICU patients.
