This article represents an official correction to the original study evaluating a non-invasive model for predicting high-risk varices in compensated cirrhosis. Minor errors in the tables were corrected, including the definition of the abbreviation IQR as interquartile range and the labeling of the validation cohort. The approval date by the ethics committee of Xingtai People's Hospital was amended to May 14, 2024. A correction was also made to the lay summary, where mathematical comparison symbols in the threshold formula previously failed to display properly. The retrospective study analyzed data from 474 patients to validate a model based on albumin, bilirubin, and platelet count. The standard model safely avoided 21.83% of endoscopies with 0% missed high-risk varices. A modified model using platelet counts over 94 × 10⁹/L, albumin over 35 g/L, and total bilirubin under 100 µmol/L reduced unnecessary endoscopies by nearly 50%. The rate of missed high-risk varices with this modified approach remained below 5%.
