Evaluation of an eHealth Assistive Device Provision Training Tool: A Quasi-Experimental Study

Approximately 2.5 billion people need assistive products, but their accessibility is limited by a shortage of trained personnel. The World Health Organization developed the eHealth tool TAP (Training in Assistive Products) designed to improve assistive product provision. The study tested this tool on 53 health science students, of whom 33 completed the full evaluation. Results showed high usability of the tool with a score of 76.97 points and positive ratings for its acceptability. Most importantly, students' self-efficacy in providing assistive products significantly increased from an average of 2.32 points before the module to 4.23 points after completing it. The eHealth TAP tool thus demonstrated potential to strengthen healthcare workforce capacity and improve training in global health.
