Assessing Patient Safety Culture Among Doctors, Nurses, and Allied Health Professionals Using the Indian Version of the Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture (I-HSOPSC 2.0): A Cross-Sectional Study at a Tertiary Care Hospital in India

The study evaluated patient safety culture at a tertiary hospital in India using the adapted I-HSOPSC 2.0 tool. The research involved 96 healthcare workers: 32 doctors, 32 nurses, and 32 allied health professionals. The overall patient safety culture score was 3.72 (±0.52), indicating a positive view of patient safety. The highest scores were achieved in communication about errors, management support for patient safety, and teamwork. The lowest scores were in staffing, work pace, and error response. Significant differences were observed between professions, with allied health professionals providing more favorable responses than nurses. The study concluded that patient safety culture is generally good, but areas such as staffing, work pace, and error response require targeted attention.
