The study analyzed the effectiveness of lifestyle interventions in women with polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS). The research included 34 studies with a total of 1,871 participants. Women who participated in lifestyle interventions were 4 times more likely to achieve regular menstrual cycles compared to the control group. Additionally, they showed reduced waist circumference, fasting glucose, and fasting insulin levels. The analysis revealed that dietary interventions were most effective at reducing glucose levels, while exercise was most effective at reducing waist circumference and insulin. In overweight or obese women, lifestyle interventions were associated with greater reductions in weight, waist-to-hip ratio, glucose, insulin, testosterone, and cholesterol. The results support recommendations that lifestyle interventions should be the first-line treatment for PMOS.
