[Profile] Mahboubeh Hajiabdolbaghi—advancing ID care in Iran

Mahboubeh Hajiabdolbaghi was born and raised in Tehran, where her parents encouraged her education, curiosity, and independence. She studied medicine at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS). At the time of her studies, only about one in ten medical students was female. The passion for learning instilled by her parents has stayed with her throughout her life. In 2022, she retired as Professor of Infectious Diseases at TUMS. Despite this, she continues in clinical practice in Tehran.
