The three largest health insurance companies in the Czech Republic have agreed on a unified approach in key healthcare areas. They plan to work together on health care device reimbursement, centralized treatment, and data sharing, expecting savings of 3 to 5 billion. The goal is to improve care accessibility and prevent situations where patients must change insurance companies due to different approaches. The insurers agreed on a common definition of centers and a basic care network based on expert recommendations. In other areas, such as technological innovations and care coordination, the insurance companies will compete. The General Health Insurance Company (VZP) focuses on innovations in oncology, diabetes (with over 1.1 million diabetics), neurodegenerative diseases, and cardiovascular diseases. VZP plans to use artificial intelligence for audit activities and reporting.
