Most applicants fail the psychological assessment, which evaluates mental disorders and potential dangerousness. The examination checks vision, hearing, cardiovascular status, mobility, coordination, and balance. The main reasons for unsuitability are mental disorders, neurological diseases, and substance use. Since January 1st, the firearm system has been simplified into two categories and the validity period has been shortened from ten to five years, allowing doctors to see patients more frequently.
