Laboratory results confirmed salmonellosis in students and teachers from the Primary School in Újezd nad Lesy. Hygienists found that the infection was caused by "uhlířské špagety" prepared with eggs that had expired on September 15 but were used on September 21. A total of 250 children and adults who ate these spaghetti experienced digestive problems and fever. Salmonellosis was laboratory confirmed in 18 individuals, with 41 people currently hospitalized. Fakultní nemocnice Bulovka temporarily restricted visits to the children's infectious ward due to the mass outbreak. Only one parent is allowed to stay with each hospitalized child. The school is currently closed, and disinfection is underway.
